Mid America Car Inc.-Locomotive has been a family owned and operated business since 1978.  We have been M-1003 certified since 1995.  We employ around 50 people and some of our people have been with us from the very beginning. We perform a variety of freight car, passenger car, and locomotive repairs, as well as supplying replacement parts.  Over the years we have added a full line fabrication and paint shop.  Our full scale fabrication shop which utilizes C.N.C. equipment, and employs people trained in the latest technologies, supplies fabrication to many other shops and businesses as well as taking care of our needs.  

     Our customer base includes  Class 1 railroads such as Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Kansas City Southern, and Union Pacific.  Short line railroads such as Rail America and Arkansas and Missouri Railroad have used our company and our resources for many years. In addition many leasing companies such as General Motors Corporation, G.E. Capital, and Greenbrier Leasing, and private car owners such as Southwestern Electric Power, Kansas City Power & Light, and ACF Shippers Car Line are satisfied customers.
